RELAY FOR LIFE PROCLAMATION <br />J U LY 5, 2011 <br />WHEREAS, the Relay for Life is the signature activity of the American Cancer <br />Society <br />WHEREAS, the Relay for Life celebrates cancer survivors and caregivers, <br />remembers loved ones lost to the disease, and empowers <br />individuals and communities to fight back against cancer; and <br />WHEREAS, money raised during Relay For Life of East Boulder County supports <br />the American Cancer Society's mission of saving lives and creating a <br />world with less cancer and more birthdays — by helping people stay <br />well, by helping people get well, by finding cures for cancer and by <br />fighting back; and <br />WHEREAS, Relay For Life helped fund more than $130 million in cancer <br />research last year; and <br />WHEREAS, the 2011 Relay for Life of East Boulder County will be held at <br />Monarch High School on Friday, August 5 through Saturday <br />morning, August 6, 2011; and <br />WHEREAS, on July 8t" the American Cancer Society will "Paint the Town Purple" <br />in Louisville by hanging purple ribbons across town in support of <br />the fight against cancer. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that I, Mayor Charles Sisk, hereby proclaim <br />July 8, 2011 as RELAY FOR LIFE DAY in Louisville and encourage Louisville <br />residents to support the Paint the Town Purple in support of Relay for Life of East <br />Boulder County. <br />DATED this 5t" day of July2011. <br />OZ L/ <br />Charles Sisk, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />SEAL oft <br />Nancy V rra, City Clerk ®�` <br />
