PROCLAMATION
Chief Tim Parker Day
December 12, 2014
WHEREAS: Chief Tim Parker designed, developed and implemented the Louisville Fire
Protection District's (LFPD) ambulance transport paramedic program.
Under his leadership, Louisville Fire Rescue was the first fire service -
based EMS program in Colorado to receive Commission on Accreditation
of Ambulance Services (CAAS) accreditation. LFPD is one of the smallest
agencies to have ever achieved this "gold standard of excellence".
WHEREAS: Chief Parker effectively transitioned the District from an all -volunteer to a
combination fire department.
WHEREAS: Chief Parker changed the mission of LFPD's Station #1 by modernizing it
and adding live-in quarters to provide for the current 24/7 staffing.
WHEREAS: Under Chief Parker's leadership, the District constructed a new fire station
to serve the southeast portion of the District, including onsite training
facilities.
WHEREAS: Chief Parker implemented the first intra-agency partnership in Boulder
County to share resources. This agreement has reduced costs and
improved response capabilities at no additional cost to taxpayers.
WHEREAS: Chief Parker created the first Comprehensive Plan in the history of the
LFPD.
WHEREAS: During his 10 years of service with the District Chief Parker has always
worked collaboratively with City staff to help protect and promote the
safety and welfare of Louisville's residents, businesses and visitors and,
on the occasion of his retirement on December 12, 2014, we want to
formally show our deep appreciation for his work.
NOW, THEREFORE I, Robert P. Muckle, as Mayor of the City of Louisville, do hereby
proclaim December 12, 2014 as CHIEF TIM PARKER DAY and encourage all citizens
to honor Chief Parker and his contributions to the Louisville Fire Protection District and
the safety and enhancement of the quality of life for all citizens.
DATED this 2nd day of December 2014
Signed
Robert P. Muckle pF
Attest: v
QJrJ4A. S'
Nancy Vdrra, City Clerk `, ;'
