OLDER AMERICANS MONTH PROCLAMATION <br />MAY 2015 <br />WHEREAS, the 2015 Older Americans Month theme is, "Get into the Act"; and <br />WHEREAS, older adults represent the fastest growing segment of Boulder County; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the older adults in Louisville should be commended for their role in <br />creating and bolstering the fiber of our community and nation; and <br />WHEREAS, our society can be enhanced by older adults aging gracefully in their <br />communities; and <br />WHEREAS, while the majority of older adults in Louisville, Colorado are thriving, a <br />smaller, yet sizeable, minority have multiple issues such as poor health, <br />limitations in daily activities and limited inadequate incomes; and <br />WHEREAS, we recognize the value of community engagement and services in helping <br />older adults remain healthy and active while giving back to others; and <br />WHEREAS, Louisville will continue to implement the updated county -wide "Age Well: <br />Boulder County" initiative at the local level by focusing on the four <br />quadrants: <br />Basic needs, <br />Health and Wellness, <br />Personal Connection and Community Involvement, and <br />Aging in Community. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that I, Mayor Robert P. Muckle, hereby proclaim May as <br />OLDER AMERICANS MONTH IN LOUISVILLE, COLORADO and call on every resident to take <br />time this month to celebrate older adults and the people who serve and support them as <br />powerful and vital individuals who greatly contribute to the community. <br />DATED this 5t' day May 2015 / f <br />Robert P.
