WLi'yr
auisville
'11.1It:i1C • tiIti E I.;;
Department of Planning and Building Safety
749 Main Street # Louisville CO 80027 # 303.335.4592 # www.LouisvilleCO.aov
MEMORANDUM
To: Building Code Board of Appeals Members
From: Department of Planning and Building Safety
Subject: Board & Commission Suggestions for City Council 2023 Work Plan
Date: October 13, 2022
We would like to establish a formal process whereby each board/commission can submit a list of projects to the
City Council for the Council to consider for inclusion in their 2023 work plan. City Council will start its work plan
conversation in December and finalize the 2023 Work Plan in January. Attached are the work plans for 2021 and
2022 as an example of what types of things get on the work plan. Also attached is a copy of the strategic plan.
Process:
• Please include a discussion item 2023 City Council Work Plan
Recommendations on your boards' agenda for either the October or
November Meeting
• Have them discuss their work plan ideas and vote on a final list of items to
submit to Council
• Please submit to me a memo listing out your boards' recommendations no
later than December 1.
Important Information for the Board
• Council may or may not take their advice. All suggestions will have to be
weighed against other goals that compete for the same time and resources,
so no one should be offended if the items don't make the final list.
• The final work plan needs to be limited to a very small number of items that
can reasonably get done in addition to all of staff's regular work, so Council
will be very limited in what they put on the final plan.
• Any items that require additional staff or funding are unlikely to make the
final list.
• They should be as specific if possible. If the goal is too big and amorphous it
is hard to track and complete.
• All goals should align with the City's Strategic Plan.
• If they don't have any goals to submit that is fine too, just let me know that
was their decision.
