He mentions <br />other structural issues of the home that make it unsafe to keep it as is. He <br />discusses getting an asbestos permit with the state and describes how the <br />process went with staff for the HPC demolition review. <br />He did initially want to save this structure but the only option they found that <br />would work is demolition. <br />Commissioner Questions of Applicant: <br />None is heard. <br />Public Comment: <br />Larry Dorsey, 315 Casalon PI, Superior, CO 80027 <br />Dorsey proposes saving the structure and possibly relocating it to be near a park <br />or some other location. He wants to make sure all possibilities has been <br />explored. <br />Jean Morgan, 1131 Spruce St <br />Morgan gives a public comment for the owner at 612 McKinley Ave. He is <br />saddened that some of our history will be gone. She reads another comment <br />from the owner at 526 La Farge Ave. She grew up five doors down from this <br />cabin. She hates to see this historic home gone and proposes to have this home <br />relocated. She mentions various locations where this structure could be moved. <br />Jeff Meier, 470 County Rd <br />Meier says this structure needs to be replaced and it cannot be moved based on <br />what the property owner has said in his presentation. <br />Mark Cathcart 1763 Sweet Clover Ln <br />Cathcart is a current member of the Louisville Cultural Council. He recommends <br />the commission to deliberate and perhaps put a stay on the property. it would be <br />a loss to see this structure gone and not salvaged. <br />Closinq Statement by Applicant: <br />Mundelein comments that this structure is not the last of its kind. Most the <br />homes he has dealt with in Old Town have had this national design. In working <br />with 10 historic homes in the past, he has saved at least eight of them. The cost <br />to move the structure would be well over $100,000. <br />Discussion by Commissioners: <br />Dunlap appreciates the public comment and reinforces that the community <br />wants to have historic preservation. Much of our online comments were to allow <br />the demolition to proceed. From his opinion, it seems more difficult to just re- <br />locate this structure to another property. <br />Haley says she understands that the cost to move this project would be great <br />and that concerns her. She mentions that it was difficult finding a spot for the <br />5 <br />
