LL City�f,, <br />Louisville <br />City Manager's Office <br />Memorandum <br />To: Louisville Sustainability Advisory Board <br />From: Kayla Betzold, Sustainability Coordinator <br />Date: December 14, 2022 <br />Re: Staff Updates <br />Building Code Phase 2 <br />• First reading of the commercial energy code ordinance was on Tuesday, November 15 and <br />second reading (public hearing) is scheduled for Tuesday, December 20. <br />Municipal Operations <br />• The McKinstry/City of Louisville team has conducted staff interviews with all departments <br />engaged with the internal decarbonization plan and have completed walk through audits on <br />the Recreation Center, Public Library and Police Services. <br />• The team will be presenting preliminary results to city council on February 21. <br />Marshall Fire Recovery <br />• Out of 180 rebuilding permits submitted or approved, 57% have opted for IECC 2021 or IECC <br />2021 + RC Appendix. <br />• The City is planning a series of fire resiliency workshops in 2023 — topics include the wildfire <br />protection plan (January 30), how to prepare for emergencies (February 13), and firewise home <br />and garden designs (February 23). These workshops will be hybrid meetings held at the <br />Louisville Public Library beginning at 6:00 p.m. <br />Regional Meetings <br />• Boulder County Partners for a Clean Environment (PACE) announced their plans for enchanced <br />commercial electrification rebates, a subsidized commercial electrification study and a <br />commercial landscape electrification program in 2023. <br />1 <br />
