Recreation Advisory Board <br />Minutes <br />November 28, 2022 <br />Page 2 of 2 <br />designated staff person who would be responsible for overseeing and advocating <br />for outdoor rec amenities The list is attached to the agenda for the meeting. <br />The PPLAB representatives of the sub -committee approved this list, but the <br />PPLAB will not meet in time to approve the list before the deadline to turn it in. <br />The next meeting of the sub -committee will be December 12 at 10:00. <br />YAB Meeting Update — Mary <br />Mary attended the Youth Advisory Board (YAB) on November 3 to get feedback <br />about outdoor rec amenities, asking about maintenance of existing facilities and <br />amenities that they would like to add. <br />• In the area of maintenance, YAB members listed repair of basketball nets <br />and soccer goals, and making sure that the water fountains are working. <br />• After discussing new outdoor rec amenities, the youth voted to show which <br />amenities they prefer. The items with the highest votes were soccer/multi- <br />purpose fields, indoor covered tennis courts, a gaga pit, and providing <br />bathroom facilities in the parks. <br />• Soccer/multipurpose fields are on the proposed City Council Work Plan. The <br />Rec Center staff and the RAB will explore the idea of a gaga pit. <br />City Council Work Plan — RAB Input <br />RAB members discussed the Work Plan that will be forwarded to City Council on <br />Tuesday, November 29. We discussed and approved the addition of language <br />that will show how the projects match City goals. <br />MOTION: The Recreation Advisory Board approves the City Council Work Plan, <br />with the language changes that were discussed at the meeting. <br />Motion: Angie Layton <br />Second: Gene Kutscher <br />The motion passed unanimously. <br />Some of the goals in the Work Plan may be related to potential planned <br />development in the City. Board members would like clear direction about how the <br />Recreation Advisory Board could interact with the Planning Department, if <br />another opportunity arises to designate land for recreational amenities. We would <br />appreciate the opportunity to provide input before final decisions are made. In <br />addition, we would like clarification regarding whether or not we would be <br />considered a quasi-judicial body, with consequent limitations. <br />RAB 2023 Work Plan <br />Lisa presented a preliminary RAB Work Plan for 2023. She will add Golf Course <br />Subcommittee updates in appropriate months, and will add Outdoor Rec <br />
