SUBJECT: OPEN SPACE & PARKS SALES TAX RENEWAL DISCUSSION <br />DATE: JANUARY 24, 2023 PAGE 2 OF 2 <br />relationship with the residents of Louisville. Revenue also supports Open Space & <br />Parks investments in non-traditional methods of vegetation control, such as <br />implementing the use of goats to mitigate weeds on Open Space and Park lands. <br />If the tax is not renewed, other sources of funding would need to be identified in order to <br />continue these projects and support capital maintenance/replacement needs. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />It is recommended that through discussion, the City Council provide direction to staff <br />and/or the relevant Advisory Boards and Committees on how to move this topic forward. <br />ATTACHMENT(S): <br />1. 2002 Ballot Issue 2D referencing current Sales & Use Tax language (and voting <br />margin) <br />2. 2012 Coordinated Election Statement & Certificate of Determination <br />3.
