Planning Commission
Meeting Minutes
April 17, 2008
McCartney stated it is a new product and it is to provide adequate shielding.
Sheets asked about the email regarding the trail connectivity.
Wood stated there had been discussion with interested groups but there was no funding
available at this time.
Applicant Presentation:
Rick Brew, 726 Front Street, Louisville, CO addressed the two concerns identified this
evening:
1) Trail Connectivity: meetings have been held with the Open Space Advisory
Board. His company and partners are looking at a parcel that would provide
connectivity from the current Takoda site to South Boulder Road. The trail would
be approximately 1,000’ in length. If obtained then the remainder of the property
would probably be dedicated to the City. Also there has been discussion with
how to create an underpass of HWY 42 that would connect the North End
Properties and Takoda. However, funding is also not available for that project at
this time.
2) Street Lights: Solar lights are a possibility then the Xcel fixture would not be
used. Once a design has been selected then Takoda will come back to the
Planning Commission.
Members of the Public: None heard.
Staff and Applicant Summary and Recommendation: None provided.
Public Hearing Closed Commission Comments:
Lipton stated he had some word changes for the resolution but would address them
after a motion has been stated.
Hartman commented to the applicant her appreciation of their working other boards and
commissions.
Loo moved and Sheets seconded a motion to approve Resolution No. 05, Series 2008
as presented by staff with six (6) conditions.
Lipton suggested an amendment to the motion to reflect the following changes to the
wording of the conditions:
1) Condition #1 – replace “track” with “include”
2) Condition #1 c – remove the words “Requirement for”
3) Condition #1 d – remove the words “Submittal and”
4) Condition #1 e – replace the words “Identification of the extent of” with
“Evidence”
5) Condition #2 – replace the words “continue to work” with “obtain”
6) Condition #3 – replace the words “will be required to” with “shall”
Loo and Sheets accepted the suggested amendment.
Roll Call Vote:
Name Vote
Jeff Lipton Yes
Chris Pritchard Yes
