<br />Rescheduled Meeting <br /> <br />Louisville City Council <br />PAGE 8 <br /> <br />June 27! 1978 <br /> <br />to Highway 42 along north side of Miner's Field. <br />All of the paving! sidewalk! and curb and gutter <br />on South St. and on Highway 42. The improvements <br />included the south side of the concrete plant from <br />Highway 42 to the railroad tracks; this has been <br />modified to include the paving! curb and gutter from <br />the point of the Y near the cement plant to Highway <br />42. Everything west of Lafayette St. along the south <br />side of the cement plant was taken from the project. <br /> <br />Farmer's Home Administration and Flatirons were in <br />agreement with this plan. Administrator Wurl re- <br />quested Council's formal awarding of the bid to <br />Flatiron Paving Co. not to exceed $70!000. Council- <br />man Caranci moved that Flatiron Paving! the low <br />bidder be asarded the project! not to exceed $70!000. <br />Seconded by Dilorenzo. Roll call vote; DelPizzo yes! <br />Kilker yes! Caranci yes! Meier yes! Dilorenzo yes. <br />Motion ca-ried. <br />Councilman Dilorenzo moved that the City Administrators <br />report be accepted and placed on file. Seconded by <br />Councilman Meier. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS AND <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS: <br />DRCOG MEETING <br /> <br />CONSTORTIUM OF CITIES <br /> <br />Councilman Dilorenzo reported she would attend the <br />meeting June 28! 1978. She stated her disapproval <br />of the maintenance of Memory Square Park. Adminis- <br />trator Wurl reported the sprinkler system is not <br />functioning correctly due to vandalism. Engineer <br />Jicinsky reported plans are being made to replace <br />some of the sod and irrigation systems with heavy <br />duty heads and fittings! also new poles for the <br />lights. <br /> <br />Administrator Wurl advised that a preliminary study <br />had been done and it involves about a 6 block area. <br />The estimated cost on the preliminary study is approx- <br />imately $140!000. The other problem is getting the <br />owners of the properties to agree on a solution. <br /> <br />Next meeting to be July 5th - some discussion will be <br />on solid waste management plan. <br /> <br />Recommended that more fertilizer be placed in the parks. <br /> <br />Requested that signs be posted at the parks to prevent <br />vandalism.
