Revitalization Commission
Agenda
January 11, 2023
Commissioner Smith noted that the LRC isn't planning to go ahead with these projects
without City Council support.
No action required.
Facade Improvement Program Agreements Update
No new applications have been received. Staff presented 5 active agreements which had a
termination date of November 2022 that haven't been fulfilled. The agreements were
originally written with a 2022 termination date and applications which were received later in
the year haven't yet been completed. Staff contacted the grant recipients and all intend to
fulfill their participation in the program. Staff requested the LRC approve amending the
agreements to extend the termination date.
The Commissioners supported Staff's recommendation to amend the agreements to allow
recipients more time to complete facade improvements.
The City Manager noted that Marshall Fire rebuild permit requests will likely increase in the
next few months and suggested the extension should be longer than 6 months if the
purpose includes assisting planning with the increased related workload. The City Attorney
suggested tying the completion date to the permit issuance date and cap the term to 18-24
months. Commissioners Williams and Smith supported this approach on future agreements.
Extend those needing extension and will evaluate case by case moving forward.
Councilmember Leh moved to extend the five applications presented. Commissioner Harald
seconded. The motion was unanimously approved.
Discussion Items for Next Regular Meeting, Wednesday, February 8, 2023:
1. LRC Work Plan & Draft Advanced Agenda
2. Fagade Improvement Program Applications
3. Debrief on Council Work Plan & whether underpasses are priority
4. Underpass alternatives depending on final Council work plan
Commissioners' Comments:
Commissioner Smith asked if the LRC has updated facade improvement marketing
materials in order to do more outreach this year.
Commissioner Williams motioned to adjourn; Commissioner Harald seconded.
Adjourn: The meeting adjourned at 9:21 AM.
Agenda Packet P. 8
