Answer was yes. o Maybe make it so that we have an internal vote before displaying the next round of pets. • Research — What did you find? What have other cities done? o Many pet mayors have died during their time in office, what could be done to offset possible problems? Maybe having a deputy mayor or a back-up. o Social media and advertising is very possible through Facebook, Tiktok, etc, all through City of Louisville accounts. o Denton's pet mayor had a panel of judges that decided the pet mayor rather than a popular vote. ■ Required submission guidelines that covered special hicks, places, and more about each pet. o Health and such should be understood by the submitter as we will not exclude based on age. o Dogs may scare younger children, how should that be dealt with? o Worrying about logistics of pet mayorship • Logistics Discussion and Decisions — Can we make any logistical decisions today? (Timeline, software, etc.) Do we need to vote? o How much power should the pet mayor have overall? Mainly just a mascot to bring the group together. o Is there a need for a blurb of 2-3 sentences that explain the pet's abilities? o Pet parade is the final goal. o When should we announce it? March 6th. o Submissions start March 14th-April 11th. Voting starts April 18th, 2 weeks for voting, Announce winner by May 2nd (and when voting ends), Inaugurate on the day of the Pet Parade (Sept. 4th). o Criteria was finalized to be similar to Maplewood. o Would be sent out in March (publication wise).
