Staff analysis of the criteria is as follows: <br />CRITERIA <br />FINDINGS <br />Landmarks must be at <br />1045 Front Street was constructed ca. 1905, making it <br />least 50 years old <br />approximately 118 years old. <br />Staff finds the age of the structure meets the <br />criteria. <br />Landmarks must meet <br />Social Significance - Exemplifies cultural, political, <br />one or more of the criteria <br />economic or social heritage of the community. <br />for architectural, social or <br />The social history of 1045 Front includes association <br />geographic%nvironmental <br />with: <br />significance <br />Mining history, particularly the Monarch Mine <br />Explosion of 1936 <br />• Women's property ownership, economic <br />history, and social history <br />• Multi -generational home ownership and <br />occupancy <br />• Italian immigrant history <br />Staff finds that the structure exemplifies the cultural <br />and social heritage of the community and there is <br />probable cause to meet the criterion for social <br />significance. <br />Architectural Significance - Exemplifies specific <br />elements of an architectural style or period. <br />• 1045 Front maintains its National style and <br />overall simple form from its original <br />construction. <br />Staff finds that the style and integrity of the structure <br />does have probable cause to meet the criteria for <br />architectural significance in its current form. <br />Landmarks should meet <br />Physical Integrity - Shows character, interest or value <br />one or more criteria for <br />as part of the development, heritage or cultural <br />physical integrity <br />characteristics of the community, region, state, or <br />nation. <br />• 1045 Front appears to maintain its historic <br />footprint from midcentury, with minimal change <br />between the original structure and circa 1950. <br />• Since circa 1950, the structure has undergone <br />some changes, including to the windows, doors, <br />and siding, and with a front porch addition. <br />
