CAREER SUMMARY Community planning and economic development professional with over 20 years of experience, including public and private sectors. Well-rounded, energetic, collaborative, and progressive leader experienced in developing and implementing community development initiatives with focus on economic development planning, zoning, building inspection, code enforcement, historic preservation and sustainability programs to achieve community goals. Key achievements in various program areas over the years include: Managed the Community Planning & Economic Recovery Committee for Summit County in response to the COVID pandemic, in addition to regular Planning Director duties. Included leading a group of major business stakeholders across industry sectors and diverse ethnic backgrounds to address needs, provide support, and balance the economic issues in the County with the public health needs. This committee worked hard to find creative solutions to help sustain business viability during this pandemic, and to keep the community informed. • Managed/directed completion of the City of Ashland's Comprehensive Plan, Authentic Ashland 2035, as well as the City's 5-year Economic Development Strategy; managed consultants through final half of the Town of Eagle's Comprehensive Plan and directed the Land Use Code rewrite project. Initiated implementation of the Manitowoc Downtown Master Plan including: creation and administration of new Downtown Facade Renovation Grant Program; developed new Downtown Wayfinding Signage program; managed design and build -out of waterfront community event/concert space; implemented recommendations of the Downtown Parking Analysis; managed reorganization of the Downtown Manitowoc organization for greater involvement and financial sufficiency. • Managed the City of Neenah's sustainability program, including serving as co-chair of the citizen Sustainable Neenah Committee. Responsible for initiating and completing installation of a 50kW solar PV system at the municipal garage to offset 25% of the facility's energy use, the largest in the region at the time, and obtaining grant funding to offset costs. Successfully negotiated financial incentives and provided development assistance for a new business to reuse a substantial -sized vacant industrial building/site, $30M investment and committed to over 250 jobs into the community by 2021.
