Historic Preservation Commission
Meeting Minutes
March 20, 2023
Dalia asks about the grant amount in comparison to the actual project costs and
what the grant allowed the property owners to do differently.
Johnson says the grant motivated them to do this project. They would not have
done it otherwise. This is not a money making project for Tebo. They are really
focusing on making the front facade look as much as possible as the original.
Keep in mind that this is a core and shell project. There will later be a tenant
finish. This is a 1.8 million dollar project.
Work Plan & Subcommittee Updates
Quarter 1 Report
Brackett Hogstad mentions the HPC training video link in the packet.
Haley says they should watch the video and come up with a questionnaire for the
next meeting.
Beauchamp says they have started social media with Instagram and have come
up with their slogan and name. We are brainstorming what our first post should
be.
Anderson says we have a meeting scheduled for Blue Parrot.
Dunlap says we have scheduled our next meeting for the coloring book.
Burg says we will be looking at two drawings for our April meeting. She also
mentions that they are working on the first draft of the user experience survey.
We have a meeting for this in April.
Dalia says in regards to the user experience survey, they have met with finance
to look at the accounts over the past few years and collect up to date data.
Items from Staff
Subcommittee Review Updates
Brackett Hogstad says we had an alteration certificate for 612 Jefferson Ave for
a window. We also released a demolition review for 1409 Courtesy for a porch,
wall and addition.
Upcoming Schedule
Brackett Hogstad mentions a volunteer opportunity for the April 7 museum
event. Our regular meeting will be held on April 17. She asks if 5pm is a good
time for open government training before the 6:30pm meeting.
Anderson prefers a 5:30pm start time.
Beauchamp says he will be out of town that day.
Burg says that date is difficult for her to come early.
Brackett Hogstad says she will explore the May meeting and a 5:30pm start
time.
Zuccaro mentions that Bridgette Bacon is retiring from City.
Adjourn
This meeting adjourns at 9:07 PM.
10
