Roll Call <br />OSAB Members Present: David Blankinship, Laura Scott Denton, Charles Danforth, <br />Susan McEachern, Helen Moshak, Jessamine Fitzpatrick, Jojo Follmar, and Michiko <br />Christiansen <br />OSAB Board Members Absent: none <br />Staff Members Present: Ember Brignull, Bryon Weber (online) <br />3. Approval of Agenda <br />Jessamine commented that the agenda looked very long and cautioned the board to be <br />mindful about being efficient. Susan commented that she wouldn't have updates about <br />Bee City USA and the Dog Parks Tiger Team, since those meetings didn't happen. <br />Charles added that the Trails Team board update could be deleted, as there was a <br />discussion item about trails on the agenda. Jessamine moved to approve the agenda as <br />written. Susan seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. <br />4. Approval of Previous Meeting's Minutes <br />Jessamine moved to approve the March OSAB meeting minutes without edits. Jojo <br />seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. <br />5. Public Comments on Items Not on the Agenda <br />None <br />6. Update Item: Marshall Fire Effects on Biological Integrity of Coal Creek. <br />Presented by Matthew Berta and Ceiteag Hennis, Students of Kristofor <br />Voss, PhD. Environmental Biology Program Director from Regis University. <br />Ceiteag and Matthew presented the results of their study of the Marshall Fire's effects on <br />the biology of Coal Creek. Baseline data had been collected in 2021 for a different study, <br />but when the fire occurred in December of 2021, they decided to follow the Creek's <br />recovery after the disturbance. They selected three sites to study: one at the Golf <br />Course (within the fire boundary), one at Dutch Creek open space, and one at the Tech <br />Center (both downstream from the fire). They noted that the Dutch Creek site dried up in <br />the summer, so they focused on the Tech Center Site solely. <br />In general, fires tend to increase water flow and sediment load due to removal of <br />surrounding vegetation.
