L C1ty 9 <br />Loille <br />CC1WRADO-SINCE 1878 <br />City Council <br />Economic Vitality Committee <br />Meeting Minutes <br />Friday, April 21, 2023 <br />Regular Meeting <br />1. Call to Order: Chair Leh called the meeting to order at 1:34 PM. <br />2. Roll Call: The following members of the City Council were present: Chair Leh <br />and Mayor Pro Tern Fahey. Also present were Community Development <br />Director Rob Zuccaro, Economic Vitality Manager April Kroner, and Economic <br />Vitality Specialist Austin Brown. Five members of the public were present. <br />3. Approval of Agenda: Mayor Pro Tern Fahey made a motion to approve the <br />agenda as presented. The motion was seconded by Chair Leh. Motion passed. <br />4. Approval of Meeting Minutes: Mayor Pro Tern Fahey made a motion to <br />approve the meeting minutes of March 10, 2023. The motion was seconded by <br />Chair Leh. Motion passed. <br />5. Public Comments on Items Not on the Agenda: Mike Deborski addressed <br />the EVC regarding Old Style Sausage's upcoming 50t" anniversary/Fourth of <br />July celebration. Mr. Deborski noted that the event will be framed as a <br />"homecoming" for Marshall Fire survivors and that it would likely need support <br />from the Louisville Police Department. He also addressed concerns that last <br />year's event included non-residents. <br />6. Introduction of New EV Manager: Chair Leh welcomed and introduced April <br />Kroner as the City of Louisville's new Economic Vitality Manager. Manager <br />Kroner gave a brief introduction of herself and spoke about her experience so <br />far and her vision for economic vitality in Louisville. <br />7. Staff Updates: Specialist Brown gave an update on the Monday April 10 Dark <br />Sky Lighting Open House. He continued with an update on the former <br />Walgreen's located at 655 E South Boulder Road. Specialist Brown concluded <br />his updates by providing information on the Marshall Fire Small Business <br />Grants Program. <br />Mayor Pro Tern Maloney asked about the eligibility criteria and whether this <br />program was only for businesses that were physically damaged by the Marshall <br />Fire.
