pity{)f ECONOMIC VITALITY COMMITTEE <br />Louisv111e <br />COLORADO • SINCE 1878 <br />SUBJECT: DISCUSSION- APRIL 27 BUSINESS FORUM RECAP AND <br />FEEDBACK <br />DATE: MAY 19, 2023 <br />PRESENTED BY: APRIL KRONER, AICP, ECONOMIC VITALITY MANAGER <br />AUSTIN BROWN, ECONOMIC VITALITY SPECIALIST <br />SUMMARY: <br />The Economic Vitality Strategic Plan contains Action #2-6: "Host annual (or semi- <br />annual) Business Forum to gather all stakeholders, review City priorities, and gather <br />feedback." This is an ongoing Action. <br />DISCUSSION: <br />An annual (or semi-annual) Business Forum is included within the Economic Vitality <br />Strategic Plan. Louisville hosted its spring 2023 Business Forum on Thursday, April 27 <br />at the Louisville Recreation and Senior Center (900 Via Appia Way). The event <br />attracted over 30 guests from the Louisville business community and included Brian <br />Lewandowski from the CU Leeds School of Business as the featured speaker. The <br />evening also included a panel Question and Answer discussion with EVC Chair Chris <br />Leh, Mayor Pro Tern Deb Fahey, Councilmember Maxine Most, Economic Vitality <br />Manager April Kroner, and Community Development Director Rob Zuccaro. The panel <br />responded to questions from the business community. <br />The event also included informational booths from the Louisville Chamber of <br />Commerce, Boulder County Partners for a Clean Environment, the Historic Preservation <br />Commission, the Louisville Revitalization Commission, and Sustainability. The booths <br />provided information regarding local projects, programs, and funding opportunities of <br />interest to the business community. <br />The event featured breakfast food and drinks from Savory Sage Catering. Staff has <br />used the RSVP list and the on -site registration information to compile a list of attendees. <br />Staff will post the business forum information and recorded Question and Answer <br />segment on the City website. Staff will also send this information directly to any <br />individuals that request it. Staff may also collect feedback from the attendees regarding <br />the spring event, as well as ideas for the spring Business Forum. Staff will also ask for <br />feedback on the event from the Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Business <br />Association. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff seeks feedback on the completed spring Business Forum, as well as ideas for the <br />fall Business Forum. <br />Agenda Packet P. 8 <br />
