RESOLUTION NO. 26 <br />SERIES 2023 <br />A RESOLUTION TERMINATING THE DECLARATION OF LOCAL DISASTER <br />EMERGENCY IN AND FOR THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE WITH REGARD TO THE <br />COVID-19 PANDEMIC <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 2.32 of the Louisville Municipal Code and C.R.S. § 24-33.5- <br />801, et seq. authorizes the Mayor of the City of Louisville to declare that a disaster <br />emergency has occurred or the threat of such event is imminent; and <br />WHEREAS, on March 15, 2020, the Mayor of the City of Louisville, pursuant to <br />Chapter 2.32 of the Louisville Municipal Code and C.R.S. § 24-33.5-709 executed a <br />Declaration of Local Disaster Emergency in and for the City of Louisville (the "Mayor's <br />Declaration") in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic; and <br />WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 27, Series 2020, adopted on March 16, 2020, the <br />City Council continued in effect the Mayor's Declaration until terminated by resolution of <br />the City Council; and <br />WHEREAS, on April 10, 2023, President Joseph Biden signed a joint resolution <br />ending the COVID-19 national emergency; and <br />WHEREAS, the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency issued by the U.S. Health <br />and Human Services ended on May 11, 2023; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council finds the COVID-19 pandemic has resolved to such <br />a degree that the threat of the emergency has passed and termination of the local disaster <br />emergency declaration is appropriate. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br />Section 11. The City Council hereby finds and declares the COVID-19 Pandemic <br />has resolved to such a degree that the threat of the emergency has passed and <br />termination of the City's local disaster emergency declaration is appropriate. <br />Section 2. Resolution No. 27, Series 2020, is hereby repealed. <br />Section 3. The City Manager shall forthwith: <br />A. Publish and disseminate information to the public regarding this <br />Resolution and the termination of the Declaration of Local Disaster Emergency in <br />and for the City of Louisville, including but not limited to on the City's website; <br />Resolution No. 26, Series 2023 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
