This excerpt of a 1978 aerial photo is a front view of 1209 Main: <br />Later owners <br />Erich and Deborah Walls purchased 1209 Main from the Stelmack family in 1996. They, in turn, <br />sold it to Jeffrey Smith and Stacey Brangenberg in 2001. In 2021, Stacey Brangenberg became <br />the sole owner, and in 2022, she sold it to Defend Colorado, LLC, which is the current owner of <br />record. <br />Records of the work that owners have had done on the house since the 1990s can be found on <br />the City website here: Main 1209 - Laserfiche WebLink (louisvilleco.gov) . These records show <br />that in the 1990s, some outbuildings were demolished. They appear on a 1996 survey that was <br />filed later with a notation that the buildings were by then gone. They include a "chicken coop" <br />and a "very old barn" at the southwest corner of the property. It is possible that other <br />structures, including additional structures for raising chickens, had already been removed. <br />According to the report "Stories in Places: Putting Louisville's Residential Development in <br />Context" (at Microsoft Word - Final Louisville Residential Context 111918 (louisvilleco.gov) <br />written by PaleoWest Archaeology for the City of Louisville, the architectural style of the house <br />at 1209 Main is "bungalow" style. <br />The preceding research is based on a review of relevant and available online County property records, census <br />records, oral history interviews, Louisville directories, and Louisville Historical Museum maps, files, obituary <br />records, and historical photographs from the collection of the Louisville Historical Museum. <br />7 <br />
