FIRE DEPARTMENT The fire department has asked for a letter outlining Council's support of the Fire District; also that there was no motion made concerning Council's support for the fire district. The letter the fire department is re- questing is in addition to the one al- ready sent to the County Commissioners, and wishes it to state that Council supports the concept of the Fire Distric- and are willing to fund the costs. Councilman DiLorenzo questioned what costs were involved. Mr. Wurl explained them. Councilman McDonald asked of Attorney Joss, if it would be possible to lease the fire station and equipment to the fire district rather then selling them. He stated that it was his opinion that the materials would have to be sold to the fire district; however, he would double check. Councilman McDonald then moved that a letter be drawn up and sent to the Fire Department that Council supports the concept of the Fire District. Seconded by Councilman DiLorenzo. Councilman Domenico stated his concern on the costs. Mr. Wurl stated that most of the work would be done by the staff and most of the costs would pertain to legal service of the City Attorney. After discussion Council carried the motion to write the support letter to the fire department. 208 WATER QUALITY MANAGEMENT PLAN Mr. Wurl stated that at teh Consortium meeting, they discussed the 208 Water Quality Management Plan, and agreed at the County level that the Coal Creek Basin should be a separate basin, thus creating a sixth basin. A meeting was scheduled for February 2, 1977, in Longmont, to give the County an oppor- tunity to submit an option they have that relates to the planning functions. They have asked that the City attend the meeting. Mr. Wurl stated that he prepared a memo stating that the City has been talking about the program for many months and have had opportunity's to hear different pre- sentations regarding the complex aspects -7-
