REORGANIZATION CONT'D Councilman DiCarlo asked if the job of director was advertised the first time. Mr. Lundberg stated that Mr. Chenoweth was hired as a rehab counselor and was made the director. This is when Steve Ferris began working. Mr. Helart stated that with the over- lapping period, Council should consider the problems that might arise as to who is responsible as head man. Mr. Wurl asked Mr. Lundberg if there was a definite benefit in having a transi- tional period. Mr. Lundberg stated that he also did not feel it fair to Mr. Drjmm to have to take on the full load and responsiblity with the C.D. application in process. Also, it would give the Board a chance to evaluate Mr. Drumm and know him as he works at the job. It would also give Mr. Drumm the chance to see if he can do the job. Mayor Pro-tern asked that some type of motion be moved to help council see where they are at. Councilman DiCarlo moved that the re- organization continue as before and that David Chenoweth be tained for thirty days as a consultant. Seconded by Councilman DiLorenzo. REMARKS: Councilman DiCArlo stated that the reason he suggested thirty days was, taking in- to consideration, David Chenoweth is making about $2,000 per month and if this comes out of consultant fees it will take care of at least I months salary for Mr. Chenoweth. There were no more comments; roll call was taken on the motion. Domenico no, DiCarlo yes, Caranci abstained, DiLorenzo yes, McDonald no, DelPizzo yes. Motion carried. Councilman MCDonald stated that this would be the recommendation, Mr. Lund- berg and Councilman DiCarlo also stated this to be the recommendation. Mr. Lundberg stated that he would bring this to the LURA Board at their meeting. He stated that he would also like Councils recommendation as to severance pay. Mr. Wurl noted that the City does not issue severance pay and recommended -7-
