City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />January 17, 2024 <br />Page 2 of 2 <br />approval. She noted the list includes information on what the impact is to staff and the <br />amount of time each item is estimated to need. She gave Council some parameters to <br />think about as they prioritize the items. <br />Public Comments <br />Josh Cooperman encouraged Council to consider including a community <br />decarbonization plan, the phasing out of the sale and use of gas powered landscaping <br />equipment to reduce greenhouse gasses, a gas station moratorium permanent, <br />incentives for affordable housing, and rezoning for more affordable housing. He also <br />encouraged consideration of dark sky lighting legislation for commercial and residential <br />properties. <br />Tiffany Boyd, speaking on behalf of the Sustainability Board, thanked Council for <br />prioritizing decarbonization and asked the Council to continue to support that in this <br />work plan. <br />Facilitator Ramos asked the Council if there is anything new to include on the list before <br />prioritizing. <br />Councilmember Most asked that the affordable housing item include incentives to help <br />people stay in their homes if they need to do upgrades with the new code. <br />Members reviewed the items on the list to make sure everyone understands what they <br />are. <br />Councilmember Brown asked that campaign finance regulations be considered for the <br />list. <br />Members each prioritized the items individually and then combined lists to prioritize as a <br />group to create a final list. <br />ADJOURN <br />Members adjourned at 8.16 pm. <br />6 0 <br />Dennis Maloney, Mayor <br />OF 01,' <br />uth, City tllerk CI: <br />Ar <br />p vA. <br />�GRA�o <br />
