This is the fifth consecutive month <br />of readings below 50.0, which is indicative of contraction in the manufacturing sector. All components weakened, including the headline, new <br />orders, employment, and prices. Industrial production rose 0.4% in March due to an 8.4% increase in utilities production, as demand increased <br />for heating. This equates to a +0.5% increase in industrial production from the prioryear. Capacity utilization increased to 79.8% in March from <br />an upwardly revised 79.6% in February, inching above its 1972-2021 average of 79.6%. <br />9 Q,ff <br />22/76 <br />
