Call to Order — Chairperson Ellen Toon called the meeting to order at 6:32 p.m. <br />II. Roll Call was taken and the following members were present: <br />• Board Members Present: Ellen Toon, Laurie Hanford, John Webb, <br />Patricia Rogers, Signe Buck, Shannon Mihaly, Cynthia Come <br />Musselwhite (remote) <br />• Board Members Absent: None <br />• Staff Members Present: Abby McNeal (remote), Chris Lichty (City <br />Forester), Ginger Cross (Senior Marketing Specialist) <br />III. Approval of Agenda <br />The agenda was approved by all members. <br />N. Approval of Meeting Minutes <br />The minutes from the March 1, 2023 meeting were approved as corrected. <br />V. Public Comments <br />No members of the public in attendance. <br />M. Communication and Outreach - Ginger Cross Senior Marketing Specialist <br />• Calendar in the meeting packet shows annual events <br />• Communication <br />o Social media campaigns include Nextdoor, Facebook, Instagram <br />o Also communicate via website, city newsletter, Rec and <br />Senior Center catalog for cross -promotion <br />o Public works communications handled by other staff <br />o Communication about median projects and other upcoming <br />events <br />o Page on website discusses how parks and open space are <br />funded, what the department does <br />• Outreach: Working with PPLAB on Bee City art contest <br />VII. Staff Updates <br />Chris Lichty, City Forester: <br />Review of Urban Tree Canopy management <br />• Chris Lichty has been City Forester for 20 years <br />• --10,000 trees on city -owned property, large portion in natural areas (especially <br />on golf course) <br />o Native trees from CO include box elders, cottonwoods, willows <br />k" <br />
