• Trail development, reducing deferred maintenance for aging infrastructure, <br />enhancing Community Outreach and Education programming. <br />• Increased or enhanced trail maintenance, natural resource management, habitat <br />restoration, and general day to day maintenance practices. <br />• Land management best practices to assist with wildfire mitigation such as <br />regenerative agriculture, mechanical controls, and invasive species control; and <br />WHEREAS, the proposed tax equates to 5 cents on every $10.00; and <br />WHEREAS, City Council finds it is in the best interest of the City and its citizens to <br />continue the City's temporary open space and park sales tax and to impose an additional <br />0.125% sales and use tax to acquire, restore, preserve, protect and maintain open space <br />and mitigate wildfire risks within open space area; and <br />WHEREAS, state law allows the City Council to adopt this resolution as a <br />statement of City Council's position of support for the adoption of Ballot Issue 2C. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO, that the City Council supports the approval of Ballot <br />Issue 2C, which will continue the City's 0.375% open space and parks sales tax for an <br />additional ten years and impose an additional 0.125% sales and use tax to acquire, <br />restore, preserve, protect and maintain open space and mitigate wildfire risks within open <br />space area, and urges Louisville citizens to vote YES on Ballot Issue 2C at the November <br />7, 2023 election. <br />APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 19th day of/4ptember, �023. „ / y <br />ATTEST: <br />PdFe�edy , <br />*nnL� iL1ire� <br />-pP P uCh-1 City <br />Dennis Maloney, Mayor <br />Resolution No. 55, Series 2023 <br />Page 2 of 2 <br />
