ORDINANCE NO. 1863 <br />SERIES 2023 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2.20 OF THE LOUISVILLE MUNICIPAL <br />CODE CONCERNING THE HISTORICAL MUSEUM ADVISORY BOARD <br />WHEREAS, the City of Louisville (the "City"), is a Colorado home rule municipal <br />corporation duly organized and existing under laws of the State of Colorado and the City <br />of Louisville Home Rule Charter (the "City Charter"); and <br />WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 12, Series 1979, the City Council established the <br />Louisville Historical Commission for the purpose of surveying and designating certain <br />buildings and structures as having historical significance so they could be placed on the <br />National Register; and <br />WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 6, Series 2001, Resolution No. 3, Series 2004, <br />Resolution No. 61, Series 2011, and Resolution No. 65, Series 2013, the City Council made <br />adjustments to the membership and purpose of the Commission, with such Commission <br />currently consisting on ten members with a focus on matters related to the Louisville <br />Historical Museum and promoting public awareness of the history of the City; and <br />WHEREAS, subsequent to the creation of the Commission in 1979, the City's voters <br />approved the City of Louisville Home Rule Charter; and <br />WHEREAS, Section 10-1(a) of the Charter provides the City Council may, by <br />ordinance, establish, consolidate, or abolish any board or commission; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council by this ordinance desires to change the name of the <br />Commission to better reflect its purpose and to specify the Commission's responsibilities as <br />set forth herein. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br />Section 1. The Louisville Historical Commission is hereby renamed the Historical <br />Museum Advisory Board. <br />Section 2. Section 2.20.010.13.5 of the Louisville Municipal Code is hereby <br />amended to read as follows (words to be deleted stFmGken; words to be added underlined): <br />Sec. 2.20.010 Establishment of boards and commissions. <br />B.
