<br />NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
<br />ORDINANCE No.1863, SERIES 2023
<br />NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at a regular meeting of the City
<br />Council of the City of Louisville, Colorado, to be held on October 2,
<br />2023 at the hour of 6:00 p.m., at Louisville City Hall, 749 Main Street,
<br />Louisville, Colorado 80027 or in an electronic meeting, the City
<br />Council will hold a Public Hearing on the final passage and adoption
<br />of a proposed AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2.20 OF THE
<br />LOUISVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE CONCERNING THE HISTORICAL MU-
<br />SEUM ADVISORY BOARD.

<br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2.20 OF THE LOUISVILLE
<br />MUNICIPAL CODE CONCERNING THE HISTORICAL MUSEUM
<br />ADVISORY BOARD
<br />WHEREAS, the City of Louisville (the "City"), is a Colorado home
<br />rule municipal corporation duly organized and existing under laws
<br />of the State of Colorado and the City of Louisville Home Rule Char-
<br />ter (the "City Charter"); and
<br />WHEREAS. by Resolution No. 12, Series 1979, the City Council estab-
<br />lished the Louisville Historical Commission for the purpose of sur-
<br />veying and designating certain buildings and structures as having
<br />historical significance so they could be placed on the National Reg-
<br />ister; and
<br />WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 6, Series 2001, Resolution No. 3,
<br />Series 2004, Resolution No. 61, Series 2011, and Resolution No. 65.
<br />Series 2013, the City Council made adjustments to the membership
<br />and purpose of the Commission, with such Commission currently
<br />consisting on ten members with a focus on matters related to the
<br />Louisville Historical Museum and promoting public awareness of
<br />the history of the City; and
<br />WHEREAS, subsequent to the creation of the Commission in 1979,
<br />the City's voters approved the City of Louisville Home Rule Charter;
<br />and
<br />WHEREAS, Section 10-1(a) of the Charter provides the City Council
<br />may, by ordinance, establish, consolidate. or abolish any board or
<br />commission; and
<br />WHEREAS. the CityCouncil by this ordinance desires to change the
<br />name of the Commission to better reflect its purpose and to specify
<br />the Commission's responsibilities as set forth herein.
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CRY COUNCIL OF
<br />THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE. COLORADO:
<br />Section 1. The Louisville Historical Commission is hereby renamed
<br />the Historical Museum Advisory Board.
<br />Section 2. Section 2.20.010.B.5 of the Louisville Municipal Code is
<br />hereby amended to read as follows (words to be deleted stricken;
<br />words to be added underlined):
<br />Sec. 220.010 Establishment of boards and commissions
<br />B. The following boards, commissions, and committees of the
<br />City are hereby recognized and confirmed:
<br />5. Historical commission Museum Advisory Board;
<br />Section 3. Chapter 2.20 of the Louisville Municipal Code Is hereby
<br />amended by the addition of a new Section 2.20.055 to read as fol-
<br />lows:
<br />Sec. 220.055 Historical Museum Advisory Board.
<br />A. There is created and established the Historical Museum Advi-
<br />sory Board for the City.
<br />B. The Board shall consist of members appointed by the City
<br />Council in number and for terms as shall be as set by resolution of
<br />the City Council.
<br />C. The Board shall serve in an advisory capacity to the City Coun-
<br />cil in matters related to the Louisville Historical Museum and to
<br />promote public awareness of the history of Louisville, Colorado.
<br />The powers, duties, and responsibilities of the Board shall be as set
<br />forth by City Council resolution.
<br />Section 4. If any portion of this ordinance is held to be invalid for
<br />any reason, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remain-
<br />ing portions of this ordinance. The City Council hereby declares
<br />that it would have passed this ordinance and each part hereof irre-
<br />spective of the fact that any one part be declared invalid.
<br />Section 5. All other ordinances or portions thereof inconsistent or
<br />conflicting with this ordinance or any portion hereof are hereby re-
<br />pealed to the extent of such inconsistency or conflict
