WHEREAS, the City Council by this ordinance desires to change the name of the Commission to better reflect its current purpose and to specify the Commission's responsibilities as set forth herein; and WHEREAS, the Arts & Culture Advisory Board shall continue to operate as an advisory board to the City Council, separate and distinct from the non-profit corporation now known as Friends of Louisville Arts, Sciences, and Humanities (FLASH). NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: Section 1. The Louisville Cultural Council is hereby renamed the Arts & Culture Advisory Board. Section 2. Section 2.20.010.B.3 of the Louisville Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows (words to be deleted str+ekeR', words to be added underlined): Sec. 2.20.010 Establishment of boards and commissions. B. The following boards, commissions, and committees of the City are hereby recognized and confirmed: 3. Gultural GGU Arts & Culture Advisory Board; Section 3. Chapter 2.20 of the Louisville Municipal Code is hereby amended by the addition of a new Section 2.20.070 to read as follows: Sec. 2.20.055 Arts & culture advisory board. A. There is created and established the Arts & Culture Advisory Board for the City. B. The Board shall consist of members appointed by the City Council in number and for terms as shall be as set by resolution of the City Council. C. The Board shall serve in an advisory capacity to the City Council in matters related to the arts and culture. The powers, duties, and responsibilities of the Board shall be as set forth by City Council resolution. Section 4. If any portion of this ordinance is held to be invalid for any reason, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance.
