RESOLUTION NO. 60 <br />SERIES 2023 <br />A RESOLUTION CONCERNING MEMBERSHIP AND DUTIES OF THE <br />HISTORICAL MUSEUM ADVISORY BOARD <br />WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 12, Series 1979, the City Council established the <br />Louisville Historical Commission; and <br />WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 1863, Series 2023, the City Council renamed the <br />Commission the Historical Museum Advisory Board and amended Chapter 2.20 of the <br />Louisville Municipal Code to add a new Section 2.20.055 to include the Historical Museum <br />Advisory Board among the City's boards, commissions and committees; and <br />WHEREAS, Section 2.20.055 of the Louisville Municipal Code provides the City <br />Council shall establish by resolution the qualifications for membership and the duties of <br />the Historical Museum Advisory Board. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br />Section 1. The Board shall consist of seven (7) members, each appointed to <br />serve for a term of three (3) years. A member may be removed by the City Council under <br />the provisions of Section 10.2 of the Charter, with cause defined as set forth in resolutions <br />adopted by the City Council. <br />Section 2. The Board shall serve in an advisory capacity to City staff and City <br />Council on matters of interest related to the Louisville Historical Museum. The Board <br />shall have the following responsibilities and such other duties as may be assigned by the <br />City Council: <br />A. Assist City staff in promoting public awareness of the history of Louisville <br />and the Louisville Historical Museum. <br />B. Advise City staff and City Council in determining the community's needs <br />and desires for public history and historical museum services. <br />C. Advise City staff and City Council on maintenance, improvements, and <br />development of all City museum facilities. <br />D. Advise City staff and City Council on the capital and operating budget as it <br />relates to museum services. <br />Resolution No. 60, Series 2023 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
