RESOLUTION NO. 62 <br />SERIES 2023 <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE INTERGOVERNMENTAL <br />AGREEMENT WITH BOULDER COUNTY FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT DISPATCH <br />SERVICES <br />WHEREAS, Boulder County operates a Communications Center for 911 and non - <br />emergency calls for law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services in Boulder <br />County and has the capacity to assist other jurisdictions within the County; and <br />WHEREAS, the City and County previously entered into an Intergovernmental <br />Agreement dated January 1, 2021 authorizing the City to utilize the Communications <br />Center for answering emergency and non -emergency public safety calls, dispatching its <br />Police Department to those calls, and routine tracking and recording of officer activity, <br />subject to payment of a service fee; and <br />WHEREAS, an amendment to the Intergovernmental Agreement has been <br />proposed to establish the service fee to be paid by the City for January 1, 2024 to <br />December 31, 2024; and <br />WHEREAS, the City and County are authorized to enter into this Agreement <br />pursuant to state law, including but not limited to C.R.S. § 29-1-201 et sec., and the City <br />Council by this Resolution desires to approve said Intergovernmental Agreement and <br />authorize its execution; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br />1. The Amendment to Intergovernmental Agreement for Law Enforcement <br />Dispatch Services between the City of Louisville and the County of Boulder (the <br />"Amendment"), is hereby approved in essentially the same form as the copy of such <br />Amendment accompanying this Resolution. <br />2. The Mayor is authorized to execute the Amendment on behalf of the City, <br />except that the Mayor is hereby further granted authority to negotiate and approve such <br />revisions to said Amendment as the Mayor determines are necessary or desirable for the <br />protection of the City, so long as the essential terms and conditions of the Amendment are <br />not altered. <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of October, 2023. <br />Resolution No. 62, Series 2023 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
