Cultural Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />Thursday, August 17, 2023 <br />Louisville Public Library — First Floor Meeting Room <br />951 Spruce Street <br />6:30 PM <br />Members of the public are welcome to attend and give comments remotely; <br />however, the in -person meeting may continue even if technology issues prevent <br />remote participation. <br />• You can call in to (719) 359-4580 <br />Webinar ID #847 8880 5269 <br />• You can log in via your computer. Please visit the City's website here to <br />link to the meeting: www.louisvilleco.gov/lcc. <br />The Council will accommodate public comments during the meeting. Anyone <br />may also email comments to the Board prior to the meeting at <br />ESchmitt@LouisvilleCO.gov. <br />1. Call to order: 6:32 <br />2. Roll call- Beth McLennan, Erica Schmitt, JR Ketelsen, Sarah Staunton, Sharon Nemechek, <br />- Member of the public: Cheryl Walker. Rodney Weiss (joined at 6:46) <br />3. Approval of August 2023 Agenda- Sarah motion, Beth second, no dissent. <br />4. Approval of May 2023 Minutes- JR move, Sarah second, no dissents. <br />5. Public Comments- no comments <br />6. Chair Report (JR) (10 minutes)- <br />- Summer concert series review: did well regardless of weather and lack of help. <br />- Cultural Caravan: will discuss this later in the agenda. Does not see the best value with <br />working with them. JR suggest that pop up was not worth it as well. <br />- Staff numbers: still thinking that we need staff and that the City Council had decided to <br />not appoint new members. <br />- Review of the concerts: <br />- Water out of order <br />- Meeting the sound crew <br />- Other responsibilities need more people as well <br />- Arts grants: JR does not think that we will be able to accomplish this without more help. <br />- Future plans of the LCC and what the City Council is deciding to do - has requested a <br />meeting with Jeff Durban. <br />
