INTRODUCTION
1.1 RESEARCH BACKGROUND / PROJECT PARTICIPANTS
This Historic Structure Assessment(HSA) is being developed to determine the feasibility of
landmarking the property at 741 Lincoln Avenue under Louisville's Historic Preservation Plan,
and to address any deficiencies related to preserving the property. The City of Louisville
Historic Preservation Commission found probable cause that the building may be eligible for
landmarking under criteria in section 15.36.050 of the Louisville Municipal Code.
The HSA is created by:
• The Collaborative, Inc, 2080 Pearl Street, Boulder CO, with John Feinberg as the
Principal Architectural Conservator and assessment lead
• Ascent Engineering, 1711 Pearl Street, Boulder CO, with Matt Berry as Principal
Structural Engineer
• Atkinson -Noland and Associates, 2619 Spruce Street, Boulder CO, with Mike Schuller
as Masonry Expert and Structural Engineer
• Homeowner, Gary Dunlap
Evaluation and assessments were undertaken by the above team members at different times
from the project's initiation in January of 2022, at which time assessments were begun under
the team leadership of John Feinberg and the coordination of Gary Dunlap. This approximately
one year period there for allowed for observations during all four seasons.
Sources of information used to complete this report include available historical
documentation prepared by the Louisville History Museum.
This HSA is funded partly by Louisville's Historic Preservation Fund.
1.2 BUILDING LOCATION
The property is situated in the Old Town district of Louisville.
Neighborhood Plan, Louisville Colorado:
Page 4
29
