ARCHITECTURAL INTEGRITY
The PaleoWest Historic Context, Stories in Places, lists 600 Pine as a Queen Anne -
style structure, likely due to the gable facing Pine Street, which has scalloped -shaped
shingles, Folk Victorian ornamentation, and bargeboard. The gable also creates a
sense of asymmetrical massing from the Pine Street view. Its Queen Anne stylings are
less and massing ornate or apparent than other examples of Queen Anne in Louisville,
such as 741 Lincoln Avenue or 1045 La Farge Avenue.
The footprint appears to remain largely the same from the 1948 Assessor's Card.
However, a second -story addition was added sometime after 1948 to the rear portion of
the structure. The Social History Report (Attachment 2) states that this addition is
believed to have been completed in 1985. That addition substantially changed the
appearance and massing of the structure, but it does not appear to have affected the
Top left: Pine Street elevation.
