SUBJECT: RESOLUTION NO. 48, SERIES 2023 <br />DATE: OCTOBER 10, 2023 PAGE 6 OF 7 <br />2. Adopt the Internal Decarbonization Plan and explore the Recreation & Senior <br />Center as a pilot EPC project; explore additional near term improvements <br />through EPC in the future. <br />3. Do not adopt Internal Decarbonization Plan and direct staff accordingly. <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends adoption of the Internal Decarbonization Plan and exploring <br />implementation option 3, near term improvements with solar, through the Colorado <br />Energy Office's EPC program and grant funding. <br />PROGRAM/SUB-PROGRAM IMPACT: <br />Energy efficiency upgrades both positively impact the Sustainability and Facilities <br />Maintenance sub -programs by reducing energy consumption and realizing cost savings. <br />The objective of the Sustainability sub -program is to use environmental, economic, and <br />human resources to meet present and future needs without compromising the <br />ecosystems on which we depend and to "actively pursue energy efficient upgrades to <br />realize cost savings and reduce environmental impacts." The objective of the Facilities <br />Maintenance sub -program is to "provide and manage facilities that maintain efficient <br />and effective operations and promote environmental and economic sustainability." <br />Future renewables and electric vehicle planning will further support the Sustainability, <br />Facilities Maintenance, and Fleet Maintenance sub -programs by further conserving <br />resources, increasing operational efficiency, and reducing operational negative <br />environmental impact. <br />ATTACHMENT(S): <br />1.
