■ The number of family homeowner households decreased alongside an increase in family <br />rental households. This could indicate that households who might have previously been <br />able to purchase a home upon forming a larger household (e.g., getting married or <br />having children) or getting older are no longer able to. <br />Tenure <br />Household tenure refers to whether or not a household rents or owns their home. In Louisville, <br />the majority (68%) of households own their homes, a slightly higher rate than Boulder County <br />overall (63% of households). Of comparison cities, Erie has the highest rate of homeownership <br />(86%), and Boulder has the lowest (48%). Across all comparison <br />geographies, homeownership rates only increased in Longmont. In Louisville, the <br />homeownership rate dropped by 5% over the time period, the second highest decrease behind <br />Superior (10%).
