<br />RESOLUTION #19 cont'd <br /> <br />After correction, Councilman Berry moved <br />that Resolution #19, Series 1975 be <br />adopted. Seconded by Councilman Domenico. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE 1/480 <br />TREE CONTROL <br /> <br />Attorney Morris read Ordinance #480 in <br />full regarding the control and care of <br />dead or infested trees. Councilman <br />DiCarlo moved that Ordinance #480 be <br />ordered published. Seconded by Council <br />woman Dhieux. <br />Councilman Berry questioned the clarifi- <br />cation of Section 4.1 on the obligation <br />of property owners and also on Section <br />6.1 regarding the maintenance and removal <br />of dead and infested trees. <br />Mr. Wurl stated that he felt the City <br />should be responsible for the removal <br />of dead or infested trees on City pro- <br />perty, but the maintenance be the re- <br />sponsibil~ty of the abutting property <br />owner. <br />Attorney Morris read the clarification <br />on the Ordinance regarding the respon- <br />sibility of the City and property owners <br />abutting City property. <br />After clarified Council voted and passed <br />the publishing of Ordinance #480. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION - SALARY <br />INCREASE OF ELECTED <br />OFFICIALS <br /> <br />Mr. Wurl stated to Council that elected <br />officials can not receive pay raises <br />during their term of office therefore <br />the salary must be established prior to <br />the term of the new officials so it can <br />be placed in the budget. <br />Under the City Treasurer pay Councilman <br />Caranci stated that the travel expense <br />should be included in the quarterly <br />salary of the treasurer and not taken <br />on as an added expense. <br />Councilman Berry asked who paid the <br />surety bonds. Mr. Wurl stated that a <br />$10,000 surety bond is needed and the <br />City pays the expense of getting the bond. <br />Mr. Wurl suggested to Council that the <br />Mayor salary be increased to $125 per <br />month and Council $75 per month. <br />MayorWaschak felt that a raise was not <br />needed at this time as he felt the service <br />was an honor and should not be for the pay. <br /> <br />-3- <br />
