<br />REGULAR MEETING <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 4!= 22 <br />LEVYING TAX FOR <br />1974 BUDGET <br /> <br />ORDINANCE #426 <br />VACATION OF SIROKMAN <br />ALLEY <br /> <br />ORDINANCE if 428 <br />USE TAX TO BE <br />PLACED ON BALLOT <br /> <br />ORDINANCE #429 <br />ESTABLISHING SAL- <br />ARIES - 2nd READ- <br />ING <br /> <br />LOUISVILLE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />OCTOBER 16, 1973 <br /> <br />Resolution #22 read in entirety by Attorney Morris. <br />Discussion was held and Mayor Pro-tern King ex- <br />plained that the levy had been decreased by 2.11 <br />mills and reallocated the 3 mills which was a <br />Sanitation levy had been moved over to pay for <br />the ~imming Pool Bond. The net reduction in taxes <br />therefore is 2.11 mills. We end up with a 20 mill <br />total levy compared to 22.11 mills last year. <br />Councilman Deborski moved that Resolution #22 be <br />adopted. Seconded by Councilman Jensen. Roll call <br />vote -- Domenico yes, Scholl yes, Donovan yes, <br />Jensen yes, Deborski yes. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Councilman Domenico moved that Ordinance #426 <br />be adopted. Seconded by Councilwoman Scholl. <br />Mayor pro-tern King advised this was the second <br />reading of this Ordinance and Public Hearing was <br />called. <br />Mrs. lvIildred Sirokman spoke in favor of Ordinance <br />#426 and gave her reasons. <br />Mr. Dave Bailey, representing Mrs. Michel spoke <br />against Ordinance #426. <br />After listening to arguments pro and con Mayor <br />pro-t,em King called for question to adopt Ordinance <br />#426. Roll call vote - Domenico yes, Scholl no, <br />Donovan no, Jensen no, Deborski no. Motion defeated. <br />Ordinance #426 was not adopted. <br /> <br />An Ordinance relating to the passage of a sales <br />and use tax on building and construction materials <br />and motor vehicles purchased outside the City of <br />Louisville as introduced by Attorney Morris. <br />Councilman Deborski moved that Ordinance #428 be <br />adopted. Seconded by Councilwoman Scholl. <br />Public Hearing held. Question called for - roll <br />call, Deborski yes, Jensen yes, Donovan yes, Scholl <br />yes, Domenico yes. A brochure will put out so that <br />the citizens of Louisville will be well informed <br />on the Use Tax and its effect. <br /> <br />An Ordinance for establishing salaries for the <br />elected officials for the City of Louisville. <br />Councilwoman Scholl moved that Ordinance #429 <br />be adopted. Seconded by Councilman Donovan. Pub- <br />lic Hearing held. <br />Councilman Domenico wanted a legal opinion from <br />City Attorney Morris if Councilman King could <br />vote on the Ordiance while acting as Mayor Pro-tem. <br />Attorney Morris stated King could vote. <br />Councilman Deborski defended his opinion to oppose <br />the Ordinance. <br /> <br />Page - 5 - <br />
