<br />Regular Meeting <br /> <br />\RKS & RECREA- <br />TION GRANT <br /> <br />CAPITAL IMPROVE- <br />MENT S PROG RAH <br /> <br />COLORADO HUNI- <br />CIPAL LEAGUE <br /> <br />OUTSIDE ,^lATER <br />TAPS <br /> <br />VACATION OF <br />HAPER STREET <br /> <br />AJAX WATER <br />PROJECT <br /> <br />FIREMEN PENSION <br />BUDGET <br /> <br />FLOOD INSURANCE <br /> <br />FRITTS REQUEST <br /> <br />Louisville City Council <br /> <br />May 15, 1973 <br /> <br />Chairman Keith Helart reported Parks & Recreation had <br />received word they have been awarded a grant of $57,000 <br />as matching funds from the Bureau of Outdoor Recreation. <br />We will now have to wait for Congress to pass federal <br />recreation bill; at which time we ",7ill receive contract <br />from the Bureau of Outdoor Recreation, then we can proceed. <br /> <br />City Administrator Wurl requested these items be delayed <br />until the Monday night study session. <br /> <br />Bulletin to be reviewed at study session and Council <br />to discuss and express feelings on legislation. <br /> <br />Users will be granted taps only if they meet City <br />standards and pay double rate. Councilman King stated <br />these will only be permitted on treated water and no <br />taps be allowed on the 16ft line. <br /> <br />City Engine1er White reviewed the property and the west <br />end is owned by other property owners. Therefore, it would <br />be impossible to close Harper Street <br /> <br />Meters have been installed and they have started to make <br />the tie on 16" line connection around the Baptist Church. <br />Councilman Jensen stated he would like to know the quote <br />on the extras. <br /> <br />Report and review of audit found a surplus of $453.51 <br />balance as of January 1, 1973 - total fund balance for <br />1973 $11,915.86. Concern is very valid in that we are <br />nearing the break even point and will soon be depleting <br />the account. <br /> <br />Mayor Caranci stated a meeting will be held June 18th <br />1973 at 7:00 P.M. HDST on Flood Insurance. He has been <br />informed that Louisville would be eligible for sale of <br />limited amount of flood insurance at subsidized rates <br />under National Flood Insurance. This will be available <br />until March 3, 1974 and will be published. <br /> <br />Mike Fritts outlined his request in his letter. What <br />he is basically requesting is usage of old railroad <br />property for parking ingress and egress purposes to <br />his property at Pine St. & HiWay 42. Planning Commis: <br />sion revievved this request and approved same. Mr. Fr~tts <br />failed to appear at the Planning Commission meeting. <br />Councilman klng suggested if we can get title access <br />we should get it for the property in question. <br />Attorney Morris stated, "I believe a quiet title obtained <br />now would be better than at some future date." <br /> <br />Page - 2 - <br />
