<br />LURA <br /> <br />Councilman Deborski remarked this is outside the <br />Comprehensive Plan area and recommended it be referred <br />to a work session. <br />Councilman Donovan remarked the only thing he wished <br />to push at this time was industry. <br />Councilman Domenico moved that the Van Buskirk request <br />be taken up at work session. Seconded by Councilman <br />Deborski. Councilman Deborski also asked if it would <br />be a waste of time to talk with Van Buskirk. City <br />Administrator Wurl advised he did not think it would <br />be a waste of time as there are benefits to both sides <br />that are worth talking about. Roll call vote - <br />Deborski yes, Jensen yes, Donovan no, Scholl no, <br />Domenico yes. Motion carried. <br />F. Pool Bids - Dick Ferguson prepared the plans and <br />specifications and invitation to bid on bathhouse, <br />swimming pool, wading pool and decks and City Ad- <br />ministrator Wurl advised Council they had been ap- <br />proved by City Attorney Morris. Chairman Relart <br />of Parks and Recreation informed Council if their <br />department did not receive a Government Grant as <br />anticipated they will use the Bond Issue without <br />Federal funding and the pool would not open until <br />June of 1974 - Public opening - August 1st, 1974. <br />Councilman Deborski inquired if we let out the bids <br />now and construction time period isn't until next <br />spring, when do you really plan on constructing the <br />pool? Chairman Relart stated construction would be- <br />gin this fall prior to Christmas and the total cost <br />would be approximately $90,000 to $97,000. <br />Councih-mman Scholl moved that the two invitations <br />to bid on the bathhouse, and swimming, wading pools <br />and deck be approved. Seconded by Councilman Jensen. <br />Roll call vote - Deborski yes, Jensen yes, Donovan <br />yes, Scholl yes, Domenico no.. <br />Councilman Donovan moved that bids be firm for 60 <br />days until October 1st, 1973. Seconded by Councilman <br />Deborski. City Administrator Wurl advised we antici- <br />pated having bids prepared and awards on meeting of <br />August 7th, 1973. There is no problem in delaying <br />the awards if there are any questions. Motion re- <br />stated on contract by changing the construction <br />effectivity date from December 1st to October 1st, 1973. <br />All in favor. Motion carried. <br />Council and Lura study session to be held July 24th,1973. <br />Councilman Deborski stated the Urban Renewal would be de- <br />funct this time next year; what transition will transpire? <br />Should receive $200,000in next two years. <br />City Administrator Wurl and Director Bob Davis will pre- <br />pare agenda for this meeting. <br /> <br />- ,;l - <br />
