<br />. <br /> <br /> <br />Memorandum <br /> <br />To: Historical Commission Members <br />From: Meredyth Muth, Public Relations Manager <br />Date: July 15, 2008 <br />Re: Agenda Item VII - Written Report <br /> <br />Budget Update <br />The City Manager has informed staff that sales tax and use fees are coming in <br />well below the 2009 budget numbers and staff has been asked to reduce <br />expenditures for the remainder of the year by 10% (more if possible). The <br />immediate impact on the museum is that the projecUsupply budget for the <br />remainder of the year has been cut by $400. Should additional funds be needed <br />this year, staff may come the Commission to consider helping to pay for needed <br />materials. <br /> <br />The painting and maintenance projects at the museum are still included in the <br />2009 budget. <br /> <br />We have started working on the budget for 2010 and impacts to the museum will <br />include: <br />. No additional staff positions in 2010. <br />. The 2010 Capital budget has been through its first round of reviews and <br />the museum signage proposal did not make the cut. However, at this time <br />the museum maintenance budget is likely to be included in the 2010 <br />budget. <br /> <br />The City is currently conducting a survey to ask residents about their thoughts on <br />possible new revenue sources (taxes or fees) to help offset the budget losses. No <br />decisions have been made, and I will keep you informed about this as the 2010 <br />budget process moves forward. <br /> <br />Facility Update <br />The City's Facility Maintenance Supervisor continues to work on the list of <br />maintenance issues at the museum and plans to have the list completed this <br />year. <br /> <br />A request for proposals from painting companies is expected to be put out in the <br />next few weeks. The painting will include lead abatement on the Tomeo House. <br />Colors on the Jacoe Store and Tomeo house will be matched with the existing <br />
