Tina provided maps of County owned
and jointly owned open space. She talked about the selection criteria for trails
projects.
Joe Stevens asked if Davidson Mesa and its multi-jurisdictional use would
warrant greater focus and potential funding. Both Tina and Ron Stewart
suggested that the Davidson Mesa project would not likely receive funding
support from Boulder County Open Space. Kristine Nelson added that the
regional trails program is still the highest priority for funding and will likely take
precedence for upcoming funding over new trails suggestions.
Spencer asked if the transportation tax that was passed in 2003 is still in
effect. Kristine mentioned that yes, the tax is still in effect and that it will help
fund the high priority regional trails in the next six years. Kristine said that the
current priorities will likely not be completed by 2015. Ron explained how the
transportation tax works including how 85% of the tax is used for roads and 15%
for trails.
Tom asked if the trail suggestions from Louisville should focus on trails
that are on or are connected to Boulder County Open Space or jointly owned
lands. Ron said yes.
