To: Historical Commission Members

From: Bridget Bacon, Museum Coordinator

Date: August 11, 2009

Re: Activity Report

Activity Report

The following are some recent projects that may be of particular interest to the Commission.

The Summer 2009 Louisville Historian is being printed and is to be mailed shortly.

I recently researched and wrote reports for City and the Historic Preservation Commission about the
histories of four historic Louisville properties for which there have been demolition permit applications
filed.

I located, scanned, and printed historical photos for the walking tour of downtown Louisville that was
recently held for the members of Historic Boulder, and supplied other information about the histories of
downtown buildings and the development of the town.

Sample photo policies of other museums and libraries are being collected in preparation for revising the
City's Museum Photo Policy.

For the second quarter of 2009, the Historical Commission collected sales taxes in the amount of $21 for
the City of Louisville and $30 for the State of Colorado on gross sales of $1487.

I have been working with Commission members and volunteers on the Museum's Oral History Project
and the Holiday Home Tour.

The Museum was contacted about a request for someone to speak to the members of a local
organization about the Museum and Louisville history for about thirty minutes on Tuesday, October 20 at
9:00 AM. It would be very helpful if a Commission member could do this. Please let me know if you are
interested.

The Museum will be closed on Tuesday, September 8th.

Historical Museum Correspondence & News Coverage

Copies of recent publications from other museums and area historical organizations, and the August 2009
issue of Money Magazine featuring a photo of the Historical Museum, will be available to view after the
meeting.

Visitors Report

. July visitors: 125
. YTD visitors (through July): 908
