To: Historical Commission Members

From: Bridget Bacon, Museum Coordinator

Date: September 5, 2009

Re: Activity Report

Activity Report

The following are some recent activities that may be of particular interest to the Commission.

I have started locating and scanning historical photos of the Acme and Fireside Mines for the City's mine
marker program.

Photos taken in 1942 of the miners at the Centennial Mine (both the day shift and the night shift) have
been scanned in response to interest by the public in purchasing prints of these photos. These photos
have not been digitized until now due to the unusual dimensions of the originals.

I attended the August Volunteer Group meeting of the Association of Northern Front Range Museums
with volunteer Mary Kay Knorr. It included a tour of the Wheat Ridge Historical Museum.

Historical Museum Correspondence & News Coverage

Copies of recent publications from other museums and area historical organizations will be available to
view after the meeting.

Visitors Report & Tours

. The LHS Class of 1959 toured the Museum as part of its 50th class reunion.
. August visitors: 177
. YTD visitors (through August): 1185
