Windy Gap Firming Project – big news, the Draft Environmental Impact <br />Statement (DEIS) has been released for public comment. A link on the City’s <br />website can be used to review the documents and/or a hard copy is available <br />for review at Louisville’s Library. As part of the process there will be a couple of <br />public meeting and the comment period, unless extended, will be until October <br />29, 2008. Depending on the comments received and if any additional analysis <br />is required a decision by the Bureau of Reclamation could be expected in about <br />six months (but schedules can change). <br />c. Marshall Lake/South Boulder & Coal Creek Ditch Transfer Case – Opposers <br />have received the Engineering Report and Staff is working to address those <br />concerns. <br />d. Other <br />VIII. Current Events <br />a. Status of Denver Water’s Moffat System Expansion – it appears that the <br />expansion of Gross Reservoir is Denver’s preferred alternative. Staff will <br />continue to monitor the project and work with Denver Water to protect the City’s <br />water supply. Staff is also having discussions with water entities on South <br />Boulder Creek to address concerns and potential solutions. <br />b. Water Conservation Plan Update – Staff is working to revise and update the <br />previous plan per the new regulations. <br />c. Dam Inspections/Emergency Action Plans for storage reservoirs (EAP) – plans <br />have been updated for the reservoirs. <br />d. Quagga Mussel (invasive species) – the mussel have been found in Lake <br />Granby. Staff will be working with representatives from NCWCD to determine <br />what impact this will have on the City’s operations and maintenance practices. <br />e. Irrigation Ditch Operation Issues – the Goodhue Ditch lost its appeal. A short <br />discussion on how this may impact the operation and maintenance of the <br />several ditches through town, took place. Additional ditch maintenance would <br />be expected in Louisville. <br />f. 2004 Drought Management Plan – Overview/Discussion <br /> Copy of plan may be found at <br />http://www.ci.louisville.co.us/PublicWorks/droughtmgmtplan.pdf - a brief <br />discussion on the how the plan urges reduced usage during drought periods by <br />economic incentives, took place. <br />IX. Agenda Items and Date for Next Meeting <br /> a. Discussed setting up a field trip with Committee members to view the raw water <br />system. <br />X.
