<br />PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA <br /> <br />Justin Eisenark, 857 St. Andrew Lane, stated that he wished to speak in favor of new <br />aquatic facility. His children are actively involved in aquatic activities and members of <br />the Dolphin Swim team. He stressed the growing student demand for aquatic sports. He <br />stated that the investment in a new pool would be an investment for the citizens of <br />Louisville. <br /> <br />COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON <br />THE AGENDA <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION - CERTIF'ICATE OF ACHIEVEMENT FOR EXCELLENCE <br />IN FINANCIAL REPORTING AND DISTINGUISHED BUDGET <br />PRESENT A TION A WARD <br /> <br />Bill Simmons, City Administrator, stated that the Government Finance Officers of the <br />United States and Canada have awarded the City of Louisville the Certificate of <br />Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting. This is the 9th consecutive year the <br />City of Louisville has received this award. The City also was awarded the Distinguished <br />Budget Presentation Award for the 1999 fiscal year. This is the 10th consecutive year the <br />City of Louisville has received this award. Dianne Ray, Finance Director accepted the <br />awards on behalf of the City. <br /> <br />The Mayor and City Council recognized the Finance Department for excellence in <br />financial reporting and an outstanding budget presentation. <br /> <br />Dianne Ray, Finance Director, stated that she appreciates the continued support from <br />Mayor and City Council. She also thanked the finance staff for their support and <br />commitment to the budget process. She stated that it is a coordinated effort, and <br />expressed her thanks to everyone involved. <br /> <br />Sisk congratulated Dianne Ray and Bill Simmons. He stated that the budget process has <br />improved every year and become more streamlined.
