Louisville City Council Meeting
April 4, 2000
Page 23.

Tom Phare, Director of Public Works informed Mayor and City Council that on Tuesday,
April 11, 2000, there would be a presentation to the Chamber of Commerce of the 96th
Street meeting. The meeting will be held at the Recreation Center.

COUNCIL COMMENTS AND COMMITTEE REPORTS

Howard stated that he would not be available for next work session.

Brown reported that several residents have contacted him and expressed the need for an
indoor inline hockey rink. They have stressed that there is very high demand for such a
facility. Brown also reported that he had received citizen feedback relative to a new
indoor swimming pool and noted that several good ideas were offered.

Simmons stated that there might be possible land acquisition for such purposes.

Brown expressed his dismay with the charter school proposal at the CTC Park. He stated
there might be an opportunity to meet a demand for additional schools, however the area
in question was not planned for that type of use. He stated that opportunities still exist
~ for open discussion to resolve this issue.

Sisk commented that the City's new web site has vastly improved and he commended
Meredyth Muth for her work.

Mayer stated he attended a Board meeting on the 96th street connection. He stated that
this is an area of significant interest for the residents of south Louisville.

Keany stated that his family is experiencing medical problems and therefore, has decided
not to run for State Representative, District #13. He stated that if problems persist and
interfere with his council responsibilities, he would resign.

ADJOURNMENT

Sisk moved that Council adjourn (9:37p.m.), seconded by Howard. All in favor.

Tom Davidson, Mayor

23
