Bill Simmons, City Administrator, explained that in addition to a steering committee there will
also be a policy committee that will be the ultimate decision-making authority for the Northwest
Quadrant Feasibility Study. Jefferson County, as the sponsor, is looking for other jurisdictions to
come forward with funding. Jurisdictions contributing to funding will receive a place on the
policy committee. He estimated the contribution level would be approximately $5,000 and asked
Council to consider whether they would like to be represented on this committee.

Howard felt that this is going to affect Louisville tremendously and expressed support for the
opportunity to participate in the decision-making process.

Mayer returned (8:50 p.m.).

Mayer reported that he attended the RTD Local Government Committee meeting regarding
expanding the st~rvice of Route 228 to include the high school. He stated that R TD plans to
expand the route: next fall, after purchasing additional buses, and it was implied that the route
would accommodate school opening/closing times.

ADJOURNMENT

Howard moved that Council adjourn (8:55 p.m.), seconded by Levihn. All in favor.

Tom Davidson, Mayor

CITY SEAL

ATTEST:

Dave Clabots, City Clerk

bjg

13
