He presented the results of the survey to Council. COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL (:OMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA Keany reported that the Louisville Housing Authority received an award for the Lydia Morgan apartments on project design from 'the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials. PRESENTATION -PROCLAMATION DECLARING AUGUST 23,1998 ~- ITALL4N HERITAGE DAY Davidson presented a proclamation declaring August 23, 1998 as Italian Heritage Day to Virginia Caranci. Virgina Caranci thanked Council for the proclamation and encouraged Council and all the citizens of Louisville to attend the LaFesta~ on August 23, 1998, and be "Italians for a day." Sam Light, City Attorney, read aloud by title only, Ordinance No. 1283, Series 1998 - An Ordinance Authorizing and Relating to the Payment of City Moneys for the Acquisition of Vacant Real Estate, Water Rights and a Conservation Easement, for Open Space, Conservation, and Right-of--Way Purposes. Davidson called for staff presentation. Dianne Ray, Finance Director, stated. that Ordinance No. 1283, Series 1998, is required by state statute for the purchase of open space.
