COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON THE <br />AGENDA <br />NONE <br />Keany arrived (7:05 p.m.) <br />PUBLIC HEARING -APPLICATION FOR PERMIT OF A LIVE MUSICAL <br />PERFORMANCE IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA (Published Louisville Times 7/25/98) <br />Davidson called for staff introduction. <br />Heather Balser, Assistant to the City Administrator, stated that Chapter 9.40 of the Louisville <br />Municipal Code requires an application for permit in order for a musical group to perform upon <br />private property in a residential area. Litz Tuzzolino, Craig Chasen and Chip McCarthy are requesting <br />a permit from noon to 9:00 p.m. on August 30, 1998, along the 500 block of Adams- Street. The <br />event is a private benefit to support local postal carriers, Terry & Nancy Wagner, who are fighting <br />cancer. All owners of property within five-hundred feet of the site for the proposed performance have <br />been notified of the public hearing, and the street closure permits were approved by the Public <br />Works Department and the Police Department. She stated that Craig Chasen was available to answer <br />any questions regarding the event. <br />Davidson opened the Public Hearing and called for Public Comments. <br />NONE <br />Davidson closed the Public Hearing. <br />Davidson called for Council questions and comments. <br />Mayer moved that Council approve the Application for Permit of a Live Musical Performance in the <br />Residential Area along the 500 block c-f Adams Street, seconded by Howard. All in favor. <br />DRAINAGE WAY `A' -LAKE PARK -AUTHORIZATION TO COMPLETE PROJECT <br />Davidson called for staff presentation. <br />Bill Simmons, City Administrator, stated that this request is to authorize completion of the Drainage <br />Way `A' Phase II drainage improvE;ments. Phase I was completed last year, at a cost of <br />approximately $627,000. Phase II is the creation of detention ponds at the Middle School and Lake <br />Park. The total cost of Phase II is approximately $296,000. The work at the Middle School has been <br />completed. The work at Lake Park was halted approximately May 1, 1998, in response to concerns <br />expressed by residents nearby Lake Park. Since that time, a public meeting was held on July 15, <br />2 <br />
